A native of Australia, Carolyne graduated from the University of Western Sydney with a BA in theatre. Upon coming to North America she has worked with numerous theatre companies and organizations—gaining expertise in Shakespearean, musical, and contemporary theatre for both children and adults. 

Carolyne spent four years in New York City studying acting, improvisation, movement, and voice at the Neighborhood Playhouse, Ensemble Studio Theatre, and the New Actor’s Studio. Carolyne completed her Master of Fine Arts degree in Directing from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. 

While Director of University Theatre at UW-Rock County, Carolyne was nominated for the Teaching Excellence Award in 2003 granted by the UW-Colleges.  Most recently she was the Education Coordinator for CTM, Madison Family Theatre, and while residing in Madison she founded her own organization, Direct the Stage, to teach acting, scene study, and audition techniques to children and adults. 

A martial arts expert, Carolyne also holds a 1st Degree Black Belt in Taekwon-Do. She co-founded the Madison, Wisconsin chapter of the Universal Taekwon-Do Federation, where she taught traditional Taekwon-Do to children and adults.
