Introduction to Acting for Adults
Direct the Stage 

This new acting course is being offered by Direct the Stage and will give you the tools to act on and off the stage.  Explore the world of acting in a fun and safe environment using a variety of acting techniques. The course is designed to heighten your spatial awareness, concentration and relaxation, while improving your confidence as a public speaker.  Students will learn how to analyze a text from an actor‚s perspective and to create a character using psychological, physical and vocal techniques.

Playing Shakespeare (Grades 6-10)

Do you think William Shakespeare is boring?  You might be surprised to learn that his plays are full of passionate love scenes, bawdy humor and deadly battles. Here‚s your chance to have a great time learning about The Bard while studying the arts of acting and stage-combat. This full- day workshop will explore the Elizabethan World, introduce you to the history and life of Shakespeare, and give you the opportunity to bring some of his most famous works to life. Learn how to safely create a combat sequence and integrate it into a scene, and then perform it in an exciting presentation. Students can sign up for full or half day sessions. All the World's a Stage--come join us.

A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare
CTM Summer Drama School
 
The summer productions are designed for students who are interested and have prior experience in the theatre. All enrolled students will have the opportunity to perform on stage, or to assist professional designers and technicians to mount a production of A Midsummer Night's Dream. This three week  session provides workshops in voice, movement and dance, script and character analysis, as well as tips on how to audition and do cold readings. Please note there is a special parent orientation for first-time participants.

Theatre Weeks  (AGES 9-14)
CTM Summer Drama School

Theatre Weeks provide full day sessions, designed for students who are interested in learning more about theatre.  Students have the opportunity to work with professional directors, choreographers, designers and technicians to create an in-class presentation for families and friends. The classes include acting, improvisation, stage combat, as well as technical theatre classes in costumes, set and lighting design as well as a guided tour of the Union Theatre.
